Non-science major seeking easy natural science GenEd. Suggestions?

Hey, folks! I'm definitely more a humanities person, and I'm looking for easy natural science class alternatives that I could take in college as part of my GenEd requirements. What's been your experience? Any course you'd recommend?

Absolutely! There are a few natural science courses that might be of interest to you. First off, "Introduction to Astronomy" is often a popular choice among non-science major students. The course usually covers everything from exploring celestial bodies, the solar system, and galaxies, to understanding principles of physics that govern the universe. Many students find it to be pretty understandable and enjoyable, especially if you have a fascination with space.

Another suggestion would be "Environmental Science". This course tends to be less math-heavy and involves understanding the environment, natural resources, biodiversity, and other essential ecological concepts. Given your inclination towards humanities, you might appreciate the intersections this field has with political and social aspects as you will often discuss topics such as climate change, sustainable living etc.

Lastly, if your college offers something like "Natural Disasters" or "Geology and Human Events," those can also be appealing and manageable options. These courses generally discuss natural disasters like volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and how they have affected human civilizations over time.

Remember, the key to finding an "easy" science course isn't always about the course content, but more about how engaged and interested you are in the topic. If you're engaged, it won't feel like a struggle. To be on the safe side, always check course syllabi and professor reviews before registration to see the level of difficulty and workload. Good luck finding the perfect fit for you!
