Tips on the easiest classes to take at City College?

Hey folks! Any recommendations for the easiest classes at City College? I'll be starting as a freshman and I'm aiming to strike a balance between my hardcore major classes and some that are a bit more relaxed.

Choosing "easy" courses can be subjective, as different subjects can be more or less challenging depending on your personal interests and skill sets. Nonetheless, some classes traditionally thought of as lighter coursework could help balance your schedule, as long as they align with your degree requirements and interests.

Bear in mind you should look for classes not just from the standpoint of easiness, but also ones you might be passionate about, as those will be the ones you are likely to succeed in, both in terms of grades and engagement.

Introductory general education classes like "Introduction to Psychology" or "Sociological Perspectives" often offer a broad view of the subject, making them manageable for individuals without a background in the field. They also often fulfill general education requirements.

Languages can sometimes be a good option too - if you've already taken a language in high school, a beginner or intermediate level college course can often be an easier 'A'. Many colleges offer conversational language courses which tend to be less intense.

Additionally, consider physical education classes, they usually have practical components and can be a good way to balance academic coursework with physical activity and they can be relaxing as well.

Remember that every student's idea of what constitutes an "easy" class can vary greatly. Always check the course syllabus, professor reviews, and seek advice from academic advisors or upperclassman acquaintances to get a better idea of what to expect.

Moreover, focus on creating a well-rounded and challenging schedule that will aid in your academic and personal growth. Taking all easy classes can disadvantage you - colleges value seeing students who challenge themselves, and harder classes can help hone your analytical thinking skills and prepare you for more advanced coursework in your major. A balance between challenging and more manageable classes is usually the best approach.
