What are some of the easiest majors to study in college?

Hey, I'm thinking about all my options for college and it's a bit overwhelming. In your experience or from what you've heard, are there any majors that are generally seen as not as demanding as others?

Firstly, it's important to frame the idea that "easiness" or "difficulty" of a major can be subjective and heavily depends on a student's interests, skills, and long-term goals. What seems easy for one might be challenging for another, and vice versa.

However, it's true that there are some majors commonly perceived by students to be less demanding in terms of workload and complexity. For instance, Communications, Sociology, or Psychology are sometimes described as such - these fields often don't require as many high-level math or science courses as others might, such as Engineering or Physics.

Business majors, specifically those specializing in areas like Marketing or Management, are also sometimes seen as less demanding, especially compared to other business fields like Finance or Accounting, which often involve more complex mathematical principles or computational aspects.

Liberal Studies or General Studies are also often considered less demanding because they tend to offer a wider breadth of course topics and less specialization, allowing for potentially more flexibility and less upper-division coursework in a specific, complicated subject area.

But it's crucial to factor in your personal strengths and enjoyment of the subject matter. If you're not interested or motivated by the material in your major, even seemingly "easier" course load could become quite a struggle. Therefore, while it's practical to consider workload, it's highly advisable to also weigh this against your personal interests and career aspirations. As the mantra goes, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." This equally applies when choosing your university major.
