Which math course should a future humanities major consider for college?

Math is not my strong suit, but I know I have to take it in college. As I prepare to head to the university in a couple of weeks, I'm trying to map out potential courses for fall term. What would be an 'easier' math course I could take in college? I'm open to any suggestions.

When deciding on the right math class for a humanities-leaning individual, there are few alternatives that may not be as intense as a traditional calculus or algebra class but still provide useful skills. Here are some options you might consider:

1. Introduction to Statistics - This is feasible for many humanities students. Statistics can be powerful tools in many humanities fields, such as social sciences, market analysis, and even journalism. You'll learn how to gather, analyze, and interpret data, which could be very beneficial knowledge.

2. Quantitative Reasoning - Some schools offer a course like this geared towards liberal arts students. Quantitative Reasoning often focuses on applying practical math skills to real-world situations and problem-solving. It is typically less abstract than other types of math.

3. Logic or Critical Thinking - While not a math course per se, these classes often incorporate some aspects of mathematics and can still fulfill a math requirement at some schools. They will improve your deductive reasoning skills, which can prove quite useful in humanities disciplines.

Remember to consider reviewing your college's General Education requirements. Some schools may require a specific math course, and others might not require one at all for humanities majors. On the other hand, always consider what might be most beneficial in terms of your long-term academic and career goals.
