What Do You Guys Think is the Hardest AP Class According to College Board?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and I'm planning out my schedule for senior year. I'm thinking of pushing myself a bit and taking on some challenging AP classes. According to College Board, which AP class would you say is the hardest? I'm okay with any subject. Thanks!

Hey there! When we talk about "the hardest AP class", it's important to note that difficulty can widely vary depending on individual strengths and interests. However, based on pass rates (the percentage of students who score a 3 or higher) from the College Board, one can get a sense of which AP exams are traditionally seen as challenging.

AP exams like Physics 1, English Literature and Composition, and Biology, typically have lower pass rates, implying that students may find these subjects more challenging. Particularly, AP Physics 1 has often been cited as one of the most difficult due to its lower pass rates and the conceptual understanding of physics it requires.

That said, just because a course has a lower pass rate doesn't automatically mean it will be the hardest for you. Much depends on your natural aptitudes and the quality of teaching at your school. If you've always excelled in and enjoyed science and math, you might find AP Physics 1 or AP Biology less difficult than someone who naturally gravitates towards the humanities. It can be beneficial to connect with teachers and former students at your school who have taken the courses you're considering to get a better sense of what you're signing up for. Good luck in your senior year!
