What's considered the hardest university to get into globally?

Hey all, I've been wondering a lot about which university is the hardest to gain admission into on a global scale. I think having high standards to work towards could be a motivating factor for me. Do Ivy Leagues top the chart or are there some unexpected ones that are even harder? Thanks!

In terms of acceptance rates, the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and Stanford University in the United States tend to be considered two of the most selective universities globally. They have acceptance rates below 5%, implying that they admit fewer than 5 out of every 100 applicants.

However, it's worth noting that the universities with the lowest acceptance rates may not necessarily be the "hardest" to get into. Selectivity can be influenced by a number of factors, including the size of the college and the number of applications it receives, which can skew the perspective.

Furthermore, in different countries, admission processes and requirements can vary greatly. For instance, in the United Kingdom, the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge are known to be exceedingly competitive, with rigorous entrance exams and intense interview processes.

At the end of the day, the hardest university to get into would really depend on your particular abilities and strengths, your preferred area of study, as well as the kind of application criteria that each university uses. If you're looking to motivate yourself with a challenge, it might be more beneficial to target a list of top tier schools that have strong programs related to your academic interests, rather than going solely by acceptance rates. Remember, it's not just about getting in but about thriving and being successful once you're there.
