What's the easiest math class for non-mathy majors in college?

Math isn't my strong suit but I still need to fulfill my Math gen-ed requirement in college. So, what's the easiest math class I could take that still counts towards this requirement, especially if I'm not majoring in something math-related?

In general, most colleges offer a number of math courses specifically designed for non-math majors to fulfill their general education requirements. However, the difficulty can often depend on how the course is taught at your specific institution, so it's wise to also consider the available professors and their teaching methods, as this could greatly impact your experience.

1) College Algebra: This is often suggested for non-math majors. The material covered is similar to what is taught in high school Algebra 2, just at a slightly faster pace.

2) Statistics: For those with a social sciences or business-oriented focus this may be a genuinely useful course to take, as it offers practical applications to real-world situations. While it still involves math, it is often considered slightly less abstract than pure mathematics.

3) Mathematical Reasoning: Sometimes offered as "Quantitative Reasoning", this class typically focuses on everyday applications of math. It can include understanding mortgages, calculating interest rates, and solving problems using set theory and logic.

4) Contemporary Mathematics: This class is an exploration of modern and historical mathematical topics such as graph theory, voting theory, and the mathematics of money. If you're interested in the real-world applications and history of math, this course could be a good option.

Remember, a common challenge is students going into these classes assuming they will be 'easy' because they are designed for non-math majors. However, they're still college-level courses and require appropriate effort and study. Checking out professor reviews and specifics of the class content at your specific institution will give you a better understanding of what to expect from the 'easiest' math class for you.
