What's the toughest degree in Australia?

Hi everyone, I'm considering studying in Australia and I'd like to tackle something challenging. Does anyone know what the hardest university degree is over there? Would it be different from what's considered hard here in the States?

The difficulty of a degree can greatly depend on individual interests, talents, and dedication. However, when it comes to rigorous course content and high admission standards, several degrees in Australia have come to be widely recognized as particularly challenging.

Medicine is considered a very challenging track due to its extensive coursework, extensive real-world practice, and high competition for placements. Degrees in law, physics, and engineering also have reputations for being quite tough based on the level of depth and detail required.

In addition, Australia is renowned for its strong programs in earth sciences and marine biology, often due to the unique regional biodiversity and access to various ecosystems. The hands-on fieldwork and advanced coursework necessary for these majors can make them notably challenging.

Ultimately, what might be considered difficult in the U.S. may indeed be similarly challenging in Australia due to international academic standards. Remember also to consider your own passions and strengths when choosing a program. The 'most difficult' subject might not align with your personal goals and skills. If you choose a field you're excited about, the hard work to excel in that field will likely be more fulfilling!
