Is Columbia University Known for Rigorous Academics?

Hey, everybody. So, I've heard from a couple people that Columbia Uni in New York is one of the toughest schools in the country. Like, workload-wise and intellectually, is this true? Can anyone who's been through it share their experiences or thoughts on this? I'm trying to decide whether to apply or not. I'm not afraid of a challenge, but I want to make sure I'd be able to handle it and also enjoy my time in college.
