Hardest College Acceptance Rate-Wise

Out of curiosity, and potentially for some hardcore motivation, which college has the known lowest acceptance rate making it the hardest to get into?

The title for the lowest college acceptance rate typically rotates between a few highly selective institutions. As of the most recent data available, Stanford University holds one of the lowest acceptance rates in the nation. The most recent acceptance rate reported by Stanford was unbelievably below 5%, meaning that for every 100 applicants only a handful were admitted.

However, across the board, schools like Harvard University, Columbia University, Princeton University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) all also report exceptionally low acceptance rates annually, often fluctuating between 4% - 6%.

Keep in mind, these numbers can vary year to year based on the number of total applications received and the size of the matriculating class. While it can be motivating to aim for these super selective schools, remember that a low acceptance rate does not exclusively determine the school's quality or if it's the right fit for you and your future goals. It's just as important to consider your academic interests, potential career paths, and overall campus culture when choosing where to apply!
