There are several universities that come to mind for their strong Literature programs:

1. Yale University – Renowned for having one of the most rigorous and comprehensive Literature programs. Yale's literature major courses are designed to provide students with critical tools for the disciplined and imaginative study of literature. Students often have the option to study abroad to enrich their understanding of literature.

2. Harvard University – Home to a strong literature program covering a broad range of periods, genres, and major figures in literature. Harvard's program is known for its commitment to a global perspective on literary arts and culture.

3. Columbia University – Literature students at Columbia University have a distinctive experience as the university integrates a "Core Curriculum," focusing on classic works of literature and philosophy.

4. University of Chicago – Known for its emphasis on critical thinking and in-depth analysis, UChicago offers a wide range of literature courses and offers students the ability to concentrate in areas such as Comparative Literature or English and Creative Writing.

5. Stanford University – The English department provides a rich blend of traditional literature courses and creative writing workshops. The department offers a Literature track that allows students to focus their studies on different literatures of the world, literary theory, and the history of thought. Stanford also offers interdisciplinary programs, including the Structured Liberal Education program, which focuses on the great works of the Western canon, in which students read, discuss, and write about key works in the humanities from antiquity to the present.

Each of these universities has a strong post-graduate network and numerous opportunities for internships, writing opportunities, and seminars that support students interested in Literature. They also have well-stocked libraries and offer students the chance to be involved in writing or literary theory research.

Remember, it's crucial to find the university that supports your individual needs and ambitions. Visit their websites, attend virtual open houses and information sessions, and connect with faculty or students in the department if you can. These experiences will give you valuable insights into how these schools support their students in the field of Literature.
