Opinions on the Ohio State University Marion Campus?

Hey, there! I'm currently considering the Ohio State University Marion Campus. I've heard a fair bit about the main campus, but less about Marion. Does anyone have any info about student life there, any experiences they could share? Thanks!

Hey there!

It's good that you're considering different campuses, each can offer a unique experience. The Ohio State University Marion, being a branch campus of the OSU, is generally smaller in size which actually has multiple benefits. This includes smaller class sizes where you have the opportunity to directly interact with your professors and peers, which can greatly enhance your learning experience.

A smaller campus also means a tight-knit community where it's easier to get to know people and build relationships. Many students appreciate the close community and report that it helps them feel more at home.

In terms of activities, OSU Marion offers a variety of clubs and organizations for students to participate in, in addition to regular campus events. There are sports leagues, fitness facilities, and a great library on campus.

In terms of academics, OSU Marion offers the same curriculum as the main campus for the first few years of most Ohio State majors. Many students choose to start at Marion and then transfer to the Columbus campus for their upper-level coursework.

However, do note that OSU Marion may not offer as many resources or as much variety in coursework and majors as the main campus. The social scene also tends to be quieter compared to the main campus.

Overall, choosing the Marion campus can be a good fit if you value a smaller community and like the idea of smaller class sizes for personal attention from your professors. It fits well for those who prefer a quieter, more intimate university experience. It's recommended to try visiting the campus, if possible, to get a personal feel of the environment.
