Opportunities to run heavy equipment in the military

I've always loved the idea of working with heavy machinery, so if anyone knows, which branch of the military gives the opportunity to operate heavy equipment?

Each branch of the military has different types of heavy equipment and offers various opportunities for operating them. Here is a brief overview:

1. Army: The Army has the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 21E which is a Heavy Construction Equipment Operator. This role operates heavy machinery like bulldozers, tractors, backhoes, cranes, road graders, and combat engineer vehicles.

2. Navy: The Navy's Construction Battalions, also known as the Seabees, spend a lot of time working with various types of heavy equipment like cranes, bulldozers, and graders for their construction projects. They have the rating of Equipment Operator (EO) for these roles.

3. Air Force: In the Air Force, the role of a Heavy Equipment Operator is filled by enlisted airmen in the Pavements and Construction Equipment role. They operate heavy equipment to construct or repair runways, foundations, structural systems, and more.

4. Marines: The Marines have a role known as a Combat Engineer Equipment Operator. These Marines handle construction and other heavy equipment to assist with logistics, transportation, and other combat-related activities.

5. Space Force: This branch mainly focuses on space operations and technology, so they don't typically work with heavy machinery in the traditional sense.

6. Coast Guard: While the Coast Guard does occasionally work with heavy machinery, it's not as common as in the other branches. Their duties tend toward maritime operations and law enforcement.

Remember, each of these roles requires additional training beyond basic training to ensure you're proficient in operating heavy machinery and understand safety protocols.
