Am I confusing Camarillo College and Camarillo University?

Hello everyone! I am not from California and recently heard about Camarillo College, and also Camarillo University. Are they the same institution or different? What's the major difference between the two in terms of size, course offerings, and community?

It seems like there might be some confusion with the names. To clarify, there isn't a Camarillo University in California. There is a California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI), which is located in Camarillo, California.

CSUCI is a public university, and it's part of the California State University system, which encompasses 23 campuses. CSUCI is mid-sized, serving around 7,000 students. In terms of course offerings, they have a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. This includes the arts, business, sciences, education, and nursing to name a few. The university has a strong commitment to inclusive and multicultural education, making it a unique community for learning and development.

On the other hand, "Camarillo College" may be a misunderstanding or miscommunication. It could possibly be a reference to Ventura College, which has a satellite campus, the Ventura College East Campus, located in Camarillo. Ventura College is a two-year community college, serving more than 11,000 students. It offers a wide range of academic programs, mainly for associate degrees and certificates.

So in summary:

- California State University Channel Islands (located in Camarillo): A public four-year university, known for a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs.

- Ventura College (with a campus in Camarillo): A two-year community college, offering mainly associate degrees and certificates.

Each has its own unique community and academic focus, so it would be crucial to evaluate which one best fits your educational objectives if you are considering these institutions.
