Visiting Clarkson University campus?

I was planning on visiting Clarkson University's campus before making my admission decision, but Covid has kind of turned that plan upside down. Has anybody had an 'in-person' experience there they'd be willing to share?

I'm familiar with Clarkson University and can provide some insights. Please remember that my information relies on pre-Covid conditions, so some things might have changed.

The campus in Potsdam, New York offers you a pretty scenic environment with a strong community feeling. It's a small town environment, which immediately makes it feel like a very closely knit community. The campus is pretty compact, so it's easy to commute between dorms, classes, dining areas, and other parts of the campus.

The STEM programs at Clarkson are notably strong, and you'll find excellent lab facilities. In terms of extracurriculars, a lot of students are involved in Greek life, and sporting events are pretty popular, especially hockey matches.

They have several dining options on campus, each with unique menus and atmospheres. Many people I spoke to appreciated the variety, and they seemed to enjoy the overall dining experience.

Above all, I've noticed that the students I talked to frequently mentioned the strong sense of community and camaraderie at Clarkson. Potsdam is a small town and the campus population is only a few thousand students, but what they lack in size, they seem to compensate for in spirit!

However, there's no substitute for a personal visit. Given the restrictions you're under, I would recommend checking out virtual tours and getting in touch with the admissions office to understand the accommodations and resources they have to showcase the campus for prospective students amidst the ongoing situation.

Lastly, you could also try reaching out to current students or alumni via social platforms to get a firsthand account of their experiences. You might get some valuable insights that way. Ultimately, keep in mind that everyone's college experience is unique, and what works for one person might not work for another.
