Strengths of UOregon?

Hey everyone! Junior here starting to look at colleges more seriously, and I'm kind of interested in the University of Oregon. I'm undecided on a major, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what majors are strong or popular there? What is the University of Oregon really known for academically?

Hi there! It's great that you're starting to explore your college options. One of the most notable programs at University of Oregon is the Lundquist College of Business, which offers a robust undergraduate business program with plenty of resources for students. Remember, Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, is an Oregon alum, so that's the kind of future that could be waiting for you if you're interested in business!

Additionally, UO's School of Journalism and Communication is highly regarded, particularly for its focus on media studies, advertising, and public relations. If you have an inclination towards sports or marketing, you might also be interested in UO's sports management program, which leverages the university's elite football program and aforementioned close association with Nike and the sports industry at large.

Lastly, the College of Education at UO is also well-regarded, so if you've ever considered teaching or educational policy, that could be worth exploring. Keep in mind that while these programs are some of the most popular and well-known, UO offers many other majors that might catch your interest, so be sure to look into all your options. Happy college hunting!
