Ins and Outs of Universities/Colleges in Colorado

Colorado has caught my attention as a potential location for my college plans. What's the student experience like at Colorado's universities and colleges? Are there any standout programs for someone potentially considering something in the Arts?

Colorado is home to a variety of universities and colleges, each with its distinct personality, strengths, and student experiences. Universities like the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder), Colorado State University (CSU), and the University of Denver (DU) are all viable options in the state.

CU Boulder is a large public university with a vibrant campus life. The art scene at CU Boulder is dynamic and inclusive with the College of Music and the Department of Theatre & Dance offering a multitude of theatrical productions, concerts, dance performances, and other art festivals throughout the year. Students can pursue Bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts, Art History, Media Production, and Museum and Field Studies. If you're interested in film, the university's Film Studies program has a reputation for being thorough and engaging.

Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, also boasts of a very vibrant arts program. The Gregory Allicar Museum of Art offers students a hands-on experience in museum practices, while the University Center for the Arts is a significant hub of creativity, where various music, theatre, dance, and art performances take place.

The University of Denver, a private institution, has a more intimate campus setting.
