How is UC Davis?

I've heard a lot of mixed things about University of California, Davis, but I've been considering them for my college list. Would any current students or grads mind sharing their opinion on the school? Looking for honest reviews about the campus, professors, and overall college experience!

UC Davis is well-regarded for several reasons. First, its academics are strong across the board, with particularly renowned science-related programs like Veterinary Science and Environmental Science. It's also part of the larger UC system, which has a lot of respect and resources available to students.

As a large public research university, UC Davis has many opportunities for students to engage in research and hands-on learning experiences, even as undergraduates. Professors are accomplished in their fields and many of them excel in providing engaging, informative instruction. However, given the size of the school, classes can be quite large in the initial years, and there can be less personalized attention, especially in lower-level courses.

The campus itself is expansive and, yes, there are a lot of bicycles! It’s a green, open campus, great for those who enjoy a more relaxed, natural setting, although some might find it a little too tranquill. Davis as a city is a small college town in close proximity to larger cities like Sacramento and San Francisco, so there are opportunities to escape and explore if you wish.
