Understanding College Search: What is Cappex?

Hi everyone, I heard about this thing called Cappex in a college chat. Can anyone fill me in on what it is, and how to best use it in my college search process? Thanks for the help!

Appily, formerly known as Cappex, is an online platform that assists students in their college search process. It offers valuable resources such as college comparisons, admissions data, and even a chance to connect with colleges that may be interested in you.

Appily includes profiles of many colleges and universities, which provide detailed information about the school's admissions requirements, academic offerings, student life, and tuition and financial aid. Some students find it helpful to compare different schools they are interested in to get a sense of which might be their best fit.

One unique Appily feature is the "What are my chances?" tool, which allows you to input your GPA, standardized test scores, and extracurriculars to get a rough estimate of your chances of being admitted to a particular school. Please remember that this is just an estimate based on generalized data and many other factors in your application could influence your chances.

Appily also offers a scholarship search engine to help students find additional financial aid opportunities. You can even set up alerts and be notified when new scholarships that match your requirements are added.

However, as a tip, do be aware that Appily, as thorough as it can be, is a tool—your college search should also include other kinds of exploration such as college visits (either in person or virtual), speaking to alumni or students, and having a discussion with your school counselor. Also, while Appily can help notify you of potential scholarships, the most significant scholarship aid will come from the colleges themselves or local opportunities that may not be listed on national search databases.

This platform is user-friendly and a great starting point if you’re at the beginning of your college search process. Good luck!
