Experience at Highlands University Albuquerque campus?

Hey, I'm considering applying to Highlands University and was wondering about how life is on their Albuquerque campus. If anyone has any experience with their programs, campus life, faculty, or general atmosphere, please let me know! Thanks!

Students at Highlands speak really highly of the support they have received from the faculty. There's a strong sense of community and the professors are known for being knowledgeable and approachable.

In terms of programs, many students particularly appreciated the Business program. It's reputed for offering comprehensive coverage of business essentials with a nice fusion of theoretical learning and practical experiences. The campus at Albuquerque stands out for its state-of-the-art facilities and the university’s focus on hands-on learning experiences. The campus location is downtown, right in the heart of Albuquerque. This makes it super convenient to explore the city, grab a coffee or go shopping.

Campus life is quite vibrant but not overwhelming, which is great if you prefer a more balanced environment. There are different clubs and activities to take part in, ensuring there's something for everyone. The campus itself is relatively small, allowing for an intimate learning environment and closer connections between students and staff. One unique aspect is the university's emphasis on diversity. The student body is incredibly diverse, which adds to an enriching experience, both academically and socially. Students often mention how this diverse environment has contributed to their broader outlook and understanding of different cultures.

Although the campus doesn't have major sports teams, there's a big emphasis on wellness and recreation, so there are various fitness facilities and recreational activities to engage in.

I've also heard from students that the school does a great job of integrating work-study opportunities and internships into many of their programs. It's really valuable as they give you a chance to apply classroom learning to real-world scenarios.

However, one aspect to be mindful of is the location - Albuquerque can be quite bustling, so if you prefer quieter, more rural locations, it may take some time to adjust. While it's pretty urban, the nature around Albuquerque provides a lovely backdrop and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.

The faculty seem to be really invested in their students' success. There are various support services on campus to help students adjust academically, including tutoring services and academic guidance which the students find really helpful.

In terms of housing, the campus doesn’t have dorms, so students typically live off-campus. This offers a level of independence but might also mean additional responsibilities. Albuquerque, though, has ample off-campus housing options to fit various budgets. In terms of safety, Albuquerque as a city has places that are safer than others, and it would be wise to thoroughly research and visit potential neighborhoods before choosing a place to live.

Lastly, you might also want to consider the cost of living in Albuquerque when making your decision, which is generally lower than the national average. This is something that students appreciate about the city, and it really helps stretch a student budget!
