Hey guys, I've been thinking and I really want to go to a college near my hometown, Easton PA. Can anyone suggest some good colleges/universities in or around Easton PA? Bonus points if they've got strong science programs.
You're absolutely in luck! Pennsylvania is home to a number of excellent institutions, many of which have particularly strong science departments. Starting closest to Easton, Lafayette College is right in your backyard. Lafayette is a highly rated liberal arts college that offers extensive undergraduate research opportunities across its science departments.
A little further afield, about an hour's drive west, you'll find Lehigh University in Bethlehem. Lehigh is known for its strong engineering and sciences programs. They are particularly well-renowned for their Biological Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Chemical Engineering programs, which might be of interest to you.
Around an hour and a half to the south-west, you'll come across the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Penn is an Ivy League institution with very strong programs across the board, including sciences. No doubt, it's highly competitive, but worth considering!
To the north-east about an hour and a half, is Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Rutgers has some highly regarded science programs in fields like Biology, Biochemistry, and Physics.
I'd encourage you to explore these options, visit the campuses if it's possible, and check out the course catalogs to ensure they offer the science programs you're interested in. Good luck!
