What are considered the most difficult university courses?

I've been trying to figure out my academic path after high school and I am curious about what are generally known as the hardest university courses? Any insights or personal experiences would be appreciated!

The difficulty of a university course can often depend on personal strengths and interests. If you're challenged by a subject in high school, it's likely that it will be even more challenging in college due to the faster pace and deeper content depth. However, certain subjects are often cited as particularly rigorous due to their workload and complexity, so you might consider these "difficult" from an overall standpoint.

Engineering: Those in the field often agree that engineering courses are among the most rigorous. Programs like chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and aerospace engineering require heavy course loads in math, physics, and specific engineering subject areas. Of course, what might make these courses difficult for some is the problem-solving and design challenges you're expected to overcome.

Sciences: The "hard sciences," such as physics, chemistry, and biology, are also known for their difficulty. These are usually lab-intensive and involve complex theories and concepts which require a rigorous understanding of mathematics.

Mathematics: Advanced mathematics courses like calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations, are considered challenging due to their complex theoretical concepts.

Computer Science: Although computer science programs vary, some of the tougher courses might include algorithms, data structures, and machine learning.

Medical and pre-med courses: With an intense workload, difficult content, and high-stakes examinations, medical-related courses such as anatomy, biochemistry, and microbiology can also be considered challenging.

While these subjects might be challenging, remember that a potential major's difficulty shouldn't necessarily dissuade you. If it aligns with your passion and long-term career goals, embrace the challenge! Just be prepared for a significant commitment to studying and coursework. After all, learning and growing often come through meeting and overcoming challenges.
