Hello folk, I've been doing my college research and Sage University in NY came across my list. However, I can't find much student perspective online. Any comments on the quality of education, campus life, student support services, and overall experience?
Sage University, formally known as The Sage Colleges before it was unified under a single name, is a private institution located in upstate New York with campuses in both Troy and Albany. Its core focus is in providing a comprehensive education combining liberal arts and professional programs.
In terms of academics, the institution offers over 50 undergraduate majors and has quite a few stand-out programs, with a particular emphasis in Health Sciences, such as Nursing and Nutrition, yet it also offers a wide range of majors from Business to Visual Arts. The classes are often noted to be small, enhancing interaction between students and faculty.
As far as campus life is concerned, participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged. Students can join sports teams, engage with numerous clubs and organizations, or even start their own. The campuses are small and close-knit, often cultivating a strong sense of community.
When it comes to student support, Sage offers a variety of resources. Students have access to counseling services, academic advising, and career planning to help them achieve both their academic and professional goals. Additionally, the dedicated Troy and Albany campuses make it easy for students to access these resources.
However, one point of consideration regarding Sage would be its location. As Sage University is spread over two campuses in the cities of Albany and Troy, the experience might differ depending on which campus you'll be frequenting. Some students enjoy the urban environment, while others may prefer a traditional, more secluded campus.
Like all universities, choosing to attend Sage University should be a decision based on how well it might fit your academic, financial, and social needs. If possible, arrange a visit or attend a virtual tour or information session to get a better feel for the campus culture and ask any questions you might have.
