Considering Universities in Redding

Hey all, does anyone have any recommendations or know about universities located in Redding? What can you tell me about student life, academic quality, or any unique programs they might have at these institutions?

From my understanding, the main institution in Redding, California is Simpson University. Simpson is a private, Christian university that offers an array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. It's well known for its nursing program, which is lauded for its professional readiness and high NCLEX-RN pass rates among its graduates. As a faith-based institution, there's a robust spiritual life on campus with many opportunities for faith formation, including chapel services and mission trips.

Besides the academic side of Simpson, there's much else to admire. For instance, the student life is lively; students enjoy a tight-knit community thanks to the low student to faculty ratio. There are also numerous campus clubs, student organizations, and athletic programs for students to participate in.

Another key attraction for students would definitely be the location in Redding. Its proximity to the Shasta Mountains and the Sacramento River lends itself to many opportunities for outdoor pursuits, like hiking, boating, and fishing. So if you enjoy outdoor activities, the university's location might be a welcome bonus.

Lastly, it's worth noting it's a smaller campus, with enrollment typically around 1,000 students - so if you're looking for a larger, more urban university experience, you might want to expand your search a bit. But if you appreciate smaller class sizes and a close-knit community feel, Simpson University might be a great fit for you.
