Any colleges worth checking out in Butte, Montana?

Hey all, somewhat of an odd situation here, but I'll be living in Butte, Montana after high school. So, I'm researching potential colleges in the area. Anyone have suggestions or experiences they can share about colleges around there?

Certainly, Butte, Montana has some educational establishments worth considering, depending on your interest field and career goals, of course.

If you're interested in the technical, scientific, or engineering fields, Montana Tech, located right in Butte, could be the perfect fit for you. It is well-renowned for its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs. Montana Tech offers a multitude of degrees from associates through to doctorates. You'd be hard-pressed to find more practical, hands-on experience anywhere else, especially in fields like Geological Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. Besides its STEM programs, Montana Tech also offers Education, Business, and Nursing programs.

If you are looking for a community college education, Highlands College of Montana Tech offers two-year, career-oriented degrees in fields like Nursing, Radiologic Technology, and Automotive Technology.

However, if your field of study isn't offered at these institutions, consider online programs or look into colleges in other cities around Montana, such as Helena College University of Montana in Helena, or University of Montana in Missoula, both under a 2-hour drive from Butte. Due to the somewhat remote location, many students in Montana utilize online or hybrid education opportunities provided by these institutions.

Remember, each college will have its own unique strengths, specialties, and campus culture, so it's important to not just consider the programs they offer, but also visit (if possible) to see if it feels like a good fit for you. Best of luck in your search!
