How exciting to consider Kansas City, Missouri as your potential college destination! Known for its robust culture and vibrant city life, there are several colleges in the vicinity with varied strengths. For now, I’ll focus on two of them: The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and Rockhurst University.

UMKC is a public university with numerous strong programs. One worth noting is their Bloch School of Management, highly ranked for its entrepreneurship and MBA programs. They also have well-regarded programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dentistry. The school has a diverse student body, and the overall vibe is urban, inclusive, and research-oriented. Given its location in a bustling city, students have plenty of networking and internship opportunities with local corporations, nonprofit organizations, and start-ups.

On the other hand, Rockhurst University is a small, private Jesuit university recognized for its strong programs in Business, Nursing, and Education. Its liberal arts education foundation means that no matter the major, students are expected to take a breadth of classes in various subjects promoting well-roundedness. The campus culture is compact and community-oriented, and students often laud the supportive and engaging faculty. They have a "Magis approach," a term from Ignatian heritage meaning "more" or "greater," encouraging students to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. Networking is facilitated through interaction with local Kansas City organizations and businesses across a range of fields, offering real-world experience to complement academic learning.

Of course, these are just two examples, and there are a number of other options based on your academic interests and preferences. Kansas City is a vibrant locale offering both big-city amenities and Midwestern charm, so you'll be sure to have a rich cultural experience outside of your academic life.
