ACT to SAT Conversion: What's a 28 ACT Score Equivalent in SAT?

Hey everyone, I've done quite a bit of ACT prep and managed to score a 28. I'm considering switching to the SAT. Can anyone give me a rough idea about what my ACT score of 28 is equivalent to in SAT scores? Appreciate the help!

Sure, happy to help with that! A score of 28 on the ACT roughly equates to a score of around 1300-1320 on the SAT. However, this is just a rough equivalent, and differences between the tests could potentially result in a higher or lower SAT score in comparison to your ACT score.

It's worth noting that colleges that consider standardized testing during the application process will usually accept either score, often treating them as equal using conversion charts like the one used to find these equivalents. That being said, the decision of whether to switch to the SAT should depend on which test format you feel more comfortable with, as well as your study habits and the amount of time you can dedicate to preparing for the test.

Also, remember that as of spring 2024, the SAT is fully digital and no longer has a no-calculator section. This might change your preparation strategy if you decide to take the SAT. For getting a sense of the new format and practicing, consider using the CollegeBoard's Bluebook™ app which allows you to preview the digital SAT and take a full-length practice test.

Good luck with your standardized test preparations!
