Taking online PE for high school credit—yay or nay?

Hey people! I'm pretty tight on my class schedule and was wondering if it's looked down upon if I take my PE credit online? Has anyone done this, and did you face any issues when applying to colleges?

Hello! It's quite understandable to seek alternative options when your class schedule is tight. Taking PE online is not commonly seen as a negative by colleges, especially if it allows you to pursue academic courses that align more closely with your interests and goals. Colleges generally do not prioritize PE when reviewing academic rigor or course selection. If you're planning to apply to highly selective colleges, though, it's important to make sure your other courses are challenging and align with the academic profile that the college is looking for. For example, if taking PE online frees up space in your schedule for an AP course in an area of interest for you, that could actually strengthen your schedule in the eyes of an admissions committee. Just ensure that the online course is accredited and recognized by your high school to count towards your graduation requirements. If you are interested in a college that values physical wellness or has specific PE requirements, you may want to reach out to their admissions office directly to see if they have any preferences. However, for the vast majority of institutions, taking PE online will not be an issue.
