35 on the ACT - Good Enough?

So I scored a 35 on my ACT. Is that seen as a good score? Feeling a bit nervous about what this means for my college apps.

Absolutely, you should be very proud of your score! A 35 on the ACT is an excellent achievement and it's extremely competitive. This score places you in the 99th percentile of test-takers nationwide, meaning you scored higher than 99% of students who took the exam. This is definitely a strong selling point on your application.

However, always remember that standardized test scores like your ACT score are just one factor colleges consider. Many top-tier schools view applications holistically—your high school coursework, grades, extracurricular activities and essays will all play significant roles in the admissions decision.

Ensure you also craft a compelling narrative through your essays and letters of recommendation, and demonstrate a deep commitment to your extracurricular activities to further stand out. These pieces, along with your superb ACT score, will give a picture of you as a well-rounded candidate with a specific passion or skill set ("spike").

In any case, a 35 ACT is certainly an excellent score, and it will be looked upon favorably by colleges. So, take a moment to celebrate this achievement!
