Diversity of Universities and Colleges in Iowa?

I'm starting to look at colleges and I'm quite interested in Iowa. How diverse are the universities and colleges there? Any information would help.

Iowa's universities and colleges offer a range of diversity in terms of students' backgrounds, studies, and perspectives, with each institution having its own unique mix of students.

The University of Iowa, for example, regularly reports that a significant percentage of its student body is composed of students from outside the state, including international students. The university also highlights the wide range of majors and academic programs it offers, which naturally lends itself to a more diverse student body.

Iowa State University, another large institution in the state, is also known for its diversity. The student body includes students from all 50 states and over 100 countries, and ISU has been recognized for promoting diversity and inclusion.

Smaller Iowa schools like Grinnell College also prioritize diversity, with the school's website noting that students come from "all over the United States and from more than 60 countries."

It's important to note that diversity can entail more than just geographic and academic variety. Many schools will also strive to create diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, first-generation college attendance, and more. Additionally, many schools host various student organizations, clubs, and collaborative programs aimed at promoting and celebrating the unique backgrounds and interests of the student body.

However, what might feel diverse to one student may not for another, so you should explore specific schools' statistics and resources to understand their level of diversity and decide if it's a fit for you.
