Need Honest Reviews on Auburn University

I'm pretty set on applying to Auburn University, but I've seen mixed reviews online and I'm freaking out a little. Can anyone here give me a detailed, honest review about your experience at Auburn, if you attended? Or maybe you know someone who did? The pros, the cons, everything - I want to know it all before committing.

Sure, I can give you a general picture of what students often say about their experiences at Auburn, though keep in mind everyone's experience will be different.

Auburn University is often praised for its welcoming and family-like environment. Many students appreciate the school spirit and enthusiasm for athletics, especially during football season. There's a strong sense of community and an abundant school pride. The campus is also beautiful and well-maintained, which makes for a pleasant environment to study and live in.

Academically, Auburn has robust programs in many fields. Their Engineering, Business, and Veterinary Sciences programs are particularly notable. It's also appreciated for its dedication to research. Students often report having access to multiple resources and lots of support from the faculty and student services.

However, like with all universities, Auburn has its downsides. One common concern is the lack of diversity. Though efforts have been made in recent years to rectify this, some students feel there's still a long way to go. Some students also mention the university being in a relatively smaller town, where there may be less of an urban life or opportunities typical of big cities.

In terms of housing, while some students praise the quality of on-campus housing, others feel it's a bit pricey for what you get. Also, Auburn, like many larger universities, can sometimes be overwhelming due to its size and the sheer number of students.

That being said, student experience varies wildly depending on your expectations, desired major, and personal interests. It's always a good idea to reach out to current students or alumni if possible, and don’t be shy to get your questions answered by the school's admissions office! They can help provide additional insight into life at Auburn.

If you want to get in touch with a current Auburn student or join Auburn's dedicated prospective student community, you can connect with those opportunities here: https://auburn.edu/admissions/connect.php. It's a great way to receive and share feedback about the Auburn experience.
