PSAT for Homeschoolers?

I’m a homeschooled student gearing up for the PSAT, and I'm clueless where I’m supposed to take it. Does anyone have information on how homeschoolers can register for the PSAT or where we can take it?

Hey there! Absolutely, I can help with that. Since the PSAT is usually administered through schools, as a homeschooler, you'll need to reach out to local high schools. Contact the schools' guidance or counseling offices directly to ask if they're hosting the PSAT and if they would allow a homeschool student to join their testing session. Most schools are quite accommodating about this.

When you call, some useful pieces of information to have handy are the PSAT administration dates, which you can find on the College Board website, and your home zip code, so they can figure out if you're within a reasonable distance to come test at their location. Remember, you'll have to plan ahead, since registration is typically completed in the June before the test date or the very beginning of the school year. So getting this sorted out early is key.

One thing to keep in mind is that some schools may have a limit on the number of test-takers they can accommodate, so checking in with multiple schools if you are in an area with several options is a good idea. Also, there may be a small fee to cover the cost of proctoring the exam, which can vary from school to school. Best of luck with your PSATs, and hats off to you for taking this initiative!
