Looking for Top Undergrad CS Programs

Sup, folks. Rising senior here, totally smitten by Computer Science. Kinda torn between some schools though. What are some top CS undergrad programs that you guys recommend?

Absolutely, it's good to cast a wide net when considering CS programs. To start off, some of the most renowned CS programs are at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, and University of California—Berkeley. All three have well-established connections to the tech industry and offer extensive research opportunities.

Furthermore, Carnegie Mellon University has a top-notch CS program, known for its rigor and strong curriculum. Its School of Computer Science is well-regarded, boasting a comprehensive range of focus areas.

Among the Ivy League, Harvard University and Princeton University also have strong CS programs. Their curriculum is rigorous but values a well-rounded education in addition to computer science specialization, embodying the traditional liberal arts philosophy.

Also, Caltech, a science and engineering powerhouse, and University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign (UIUC) both feature stand-out CS programs with a robust list of courses and research opportunities.

University of Washington and University of California—San Diego (UCSD) both offer top-ranked CS programs with connections to major tech firms, making these schools a potential gateway to internships and employment in the industry.

If you're looking for schools where you might encounter a less competitive admission process, yet still have access to high-quality CS education, consider University of Texas at Austin, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Purdue University.

Keep in mind that, while rankings can give a general sense of the program's reputation, it's just as important to consider other factors such as school culture, location, size, financial aid, co-op or internship opportunities, etc., which can significantly affect your college experience. Always research thoroughly and visit campuses if possible to get a better feel for the environment. Best of luck with your applications!
