Can online health classes boost my high school GPA?

I found an online health class that I can take for free high school credit. Do you think this could be a strategic move to boost my GPA? Has anyone done something similar and can share if it's viewed the same as in-person health classes by admissions?

Hey there! That's a great question. Taking an online health class can indeed contribute to your GPA, just like any other class would. The important thing to check is whether the class will be weighted in the same way as your in-person classes and if it is accepted for credit by your high school. Schools generally look at the rigor of your coursework, so just ensure that this online class is consistent with the level of challenge in your other classes. I've seen students take online courses for a variety of reasons—scheduling conflicts, interest in the subject, or a need for credit recovery. Admissions officers tend to focus more on the level of rigor and your performance in these classes rather than the format (online vs. in-person). Just be sure to maintain a strong performance across your other academic subjects, too. Lastly, if the course fits well with your schedule and academic goals, it could be a smart addition. Good luck!
