Hey guys, currently a junior and I live in Ohio. I've been looking into colleges in the southeastern part of the state because I'm hoping to stay relatively close to home. Anyone got some suggestions for not-so-well-known good schools in that area? Looking for some input to start my research, thanks in advance!
Hey there! Southeastern Ohio has quite a few options to offer. To narrow them down, you may want to consider what size campus you're looking for, whether you prefer public or private, and your intended major. That being said, here are a few places to start:
1. Ohio University - Based in Athens, it is quite a large public institution with a wide range of study programs. OU has a beautiful campus and is often touted for its strong programs in journalism, education, and health related majors.
2. Marietta College - This is a smaller, private liberal arts college known especially for its engineering and petroleum engineering programs. It's got a beautiful campus and a small student body, which might offer more personal attention.
3. Muskingum University - A private institution with about 2,000 students. It's known for programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, as well as Business, Education, and Humanities.
There's also Hocking College. It's a community college with a hands-on, experiential learning focus. It offers a variety of associate and certificate programs in fields like Ecotourism, Nursing, and Wildlife Resources Management.
Good luck with your research! Remember, reaching out to the admissions offices at these institutions can provide you with more detailed information about programs, campus life, and financial aid opportunities.
