What's the acceptance rate like for Mount Holyoke?

Hey, I'm interested in Mount Holyoke and I've been hearing a lot about how competitive it's become. Does anyone have clarity on the acceptance rate currently? Is there a difference in acceptance for Early Decision versus Regular Decision? Thanks in advance!

Mount Holyoke College is indeed a competitive institution known for its rigorous academic programs. As of 2024, the most recent acceptance rate reported for the college was around 38%. This is a relatively selective rate, so a competitive application would be beneficial.

As for Early Decision (ED) versus Regular Decision (RD), there is usually a significant difference in acceptance rates. This is largely because ED applicants demonstrate a strong commitment to the college, given that ED is binding and a student must enroll if they get admitted. However, Mount Holyoke, like many institutions, does not publish separate acceptance rates for ED and RD, so it's hard to say exactly what the difference is.

Remember that while acceptance rate can give a rough idea of a college's selectivity, it doesn't paint a full picture. Different factors such as the strength of the applicant pool in a given year, institutional priorities, and your individual 'fit' for the school can all influence your chances of acceptance.
