Decoding the Princeton LLP - Any insights?

Hey all, I recently came across the Princeton LLP while researching different universities. Could anyone explain what the program entails? I'm interested, but it seems a bit hard to grasp from their official website. Thanks for any help!

Sure, I'd be happy to explain! The Princeton Learning, Leadership and Persuasion (LLP) is a selective program that emphasizes leadership and persuasion aspects in policy-making, negotiation, and strategic analysis across diverse fields.

The curriculum includes courses on leadership, persuasion, public policy, negotiations, economics, and more. However, it's not a traditional major or minor. It's more accurately regarded as an academically rigorous program that augments a student's primary course of study.

Students apply during their sophomore year. If accepted, they participate in a group of around 20-25 peers. This cohort will go through various activities, including seminars, lectures, and guest speakers while also developing a community and intellectual rapport with each other.

One of the highlights of the program is the exclusive lectures from Rhodes Scholar and professor John Londregan, who has a broad range of expertise in politics, mathematics, and economics.

As part of the LLP, students spend the summer after their junior year engaging in a unique funded summer experience, such as an internship relating to politics, economics, or social issues. The aim is to provide real-world context and application to what they're learning academically.

Following the summer experience, their senior year involves a capstone course to assess and reflect on their learning journey. This can provide valuable insights and a unique perspective that might benefit them when applying to jobs or graduate programs.

It's a unique program, but the challenge lies in finding the right balance between your main area of study and the additional course load. So weigh potential advantages with the workload before deciding to apply. However, if you're interested in policy, strategic analysis, or have an inclination towards leadership roles, it could be well worth considering!
