Small liberal arts colleges in California - recommendations?

I'm super interested in attending a small liberal arts college in California. Any recommendations on which ones I should look into? What unique strengths do they have?

Sure, there are some excellent small liberal arts colleges in California:

1. Pomona College: Pomona is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the U.S. It's part of the Claremont Colleges consortium, so students have access to the resources of all five colleges. Pomona has strong programs across the board, but the social sciences, biology, and English are particularly well-regarded. Students often praise the undergraduate focus and research opportunities.

2. Claremont McKenna College: Also part of the Claremont Colleges consortium, Claremont McKenna has a strong reputation for politics, economics, and international relations studies. It also offers a unique leadership focus through its Leadership Institute despite its liberal arts grounding.

3. Harvey Mudd College: If you're interested in STEM subjects, Harvey Mudd could be a good option. It's part of the Claremont Colleges too and is recognized for its excellent programs in engineering, computer science, and physics. Furthermore, it emphasizes a broad, liberal arts-style education even within its technical programs.

4. Scripps College: Scripps is an all-women's college, part of the Claremont consortium, and offers a strong interdisciplinary curriculum. Particularly noted are its humanities and fine arts programs.

5. Pitzer College: Also part of the Claremont Colleges, Pitzer has a strong focus on the social sciences, interdisciplinary studies, and student-led curriculum.

6. Occidental College: Located in Los Angeles, Occidental has a strong focus on social justice and diversity, with an excellent program in media arts and culture. Being in a big city, students can take advantage of internships and cultural opportunities.

Remember, each college has a unique academic and social culture. I recommend visiting these colleges (if possible), participating in online information sessions, or connecting with current students to see which one might be the best fit for you. Good luck with your research!
