Hand-to-hand combat training - which military branch focuses more?

Hey everyone, I'm really into martial arts and I've been thinking about the military as a post-high-school option. I was wondering if any of you know which branch of the military puts a particular emphasis on hand-to-hand combat training?

All branches of the U.S. military incorporate hand-to-hand combat training as part of their Basic Combat Training programs, but the level of emphasis and the specific techniques taught can vary. The U.S. Army uses the Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP), which was developed in the late '90s and is heavily influenced by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, incorporating grappling and ground-fighting techniques. This program emphasizes dealing with the full spectrum of violent encounters, particularly in close-quarter combat. The Marine Corps, on the other hand, has the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP). The MCMAP is unique in that it incorporates training in mental and character disciplines, along with the physical disciplines of martial arts. Techniques range from unarmed combat to the use of rifle and bayonet. The Navy and Air Force tend to put less emphasis on extensive hand-to-hand combat training compared to the Army and Marine Corps. However, their Special Operations communities, such as the Navy SEALs and Air Force Pararescue, do receive extensive close-quarters combat training.

In sum, the Army and Marine Corps put strong emphasis on hand-to-hand combat techniques. However, the best fit for you would ultimately depend on the balance of martial arts training and other aspects of military life you are interested in. Remember, every branch has its unique culture, mission, and training standards so research thoroughly before making a decision.
