Hunt for excellent music schools in Colorado?

Super into music and want to pursue it for my higher studies. Can anyone point me towards the best music schools in Colorado? P.S I have a thing for jazz music, so jazz program recommendations would be a bonus.

You're in luck because Colorado is home to several excellent music schools that offer fantastic Jazz programs. I'll jot down a few notable ones based on their strong reputation and programs in Jazz and other music fields.

1. University of Colorado Boulder - College of Music: This music school offers a comprehensive undergraduate program in Jazz Studies tailored to enhance the student's performance and pedagogical skills in jazz music. Their faculty are renowned jazz artists who often encourage students to perform in the community for practical exposure.

2. Metropolitan State University of Denver - Department of Music: MSU Denver offers a Jazz Studies concentration that address a wide array of styles within the jazz idiom. The curriculum is designed to foster creative and critical thinking in order to prepare students to work as jazz professionals.

3. Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver: The Lamont School of Music has Jazz Studies programs at both the bachelor's and master's levels. Boasting of small class sizes, this program gives students ample performance opportunities and personal attention from faculty.

4. Colorado State University - School of Music, Theater and Dance: Located in Fort Collins, CSU offers a Bachelor's in Music with a concentration in Jazz Studies. The curriculum emphasizes technical proficiency, improvisation skills, jazz theory, and jazz history.

Remember, while I've listed these based on their reputation and program offerings, what constitutes the "best" music school can significantly depend on your specific goals, personal preferences, and what you value most in a music education. Be sure to investigate each school and their respective programs, speak to current and alumni students, faculty wherever possible, and try to visit the campuses if you can. And consider applying to all that interest you; this will give you a variety of options when it comes time to decide. Happy hunting!
