Unpacking The New School's Out of State Acceptance Rate

Hiya! I'm from out of state and have been looking into The New School. Anyone know if the out of state acceptance rate is drastically different? Feeling kinda anxious on this one.

Sure, It's common for students to wonder about this, but you'll be glad to know that The New School, like many private universities, doesn't typically differentiate between in-state and out-of-state applicants in their admissions process.

In fact, many private institutions have a vast majority of their student population from out of state. They value the diverse perspectives and experiences that come from having students from varied backgrounds, and geographic diversity is part of this. Therefore, while it's reasonable to consider factors like competitiveness, program fit, and overall university culture, the fact that you're from out-of-state won't inherently disadvantage you at The New School. Your application will be evaluated based on your academic credentials, extracurriculars, personal essays, and letters of recommendation, among other factors.

So, carry on and ensure you put your best foot forward in your application. Remember that demonstrating your genuine interest in the institution and how you can contribute can make a significant difference. Good luck!
