Insights about Auburn Rolling Admissions?

Hey everyone, looking to apply for Auburn this fall and saw they have a rolling admissions policy. How does it work and does it affect my chances of getting in? Any info would be super appreciated!

Auburn University's admissions process is indeed a rolling one, and this means they review and make decisions on applications as they come in, rather than after a dedicated deadline. When you apply to a college with rolling admissions, applicants will typically hear back within a few weeks of submitting their applications. This can take some pressure off as you'll know where you stand more quickly.

However, it's crucial to understand that rolling admissions partake in a 'first come, first serve' basis. Therefore, applying earlier can somewhat increase your chances, primarily because admission officers have more seats to fill and hence, could be slightly more lenient in their decisions. Later in the application cycle, spots may start to fill up, making admissions more competitive.

This doesn't mean that applying later within the deadline will severely hurt your chances, as Auburn's admissions rate is generally higher than some ultra-competitive schools, but being early has its benefits.

Remember to submit a quality application packet, which includes your transcript, test scores (if you opt to submit them as Auburn is test-preferred) and your applications essays. Merely applying early won't make up for weak areas in your application.

Lastly, don't forget the FAFSA for financial aid purposes. Auburn starts awarding financial aid in late November, so that's one more reason to get your materials in early.

Good luck with your application!
