Are There Any Colleges Providing Military Discounts?

Hi there, I was just wondering, do any colleges actually give discounts to military members? If so, could anyone share some insight into which ones are the best?

Absolutely, numerous colleges and universities in the United States offer discounts, scholarships, and flexible payment options to active-duty military members, veterans, and their dependents.

Arizona State University offers a Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship that covers tuition costs for undergraduate courses not covered by military tuition assistance. Western Governors University, a non-profit online university, has a Military Appreciation Scholarship for active-duty military, veterans, and military families, which can cover up to $2,500 in tuition costs.

Syracuse University operates the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, which provides a wide range of support services for veterans and military family members who want to start their own businesses.

Colorado State University has a discounted tuition rate specifically for active military members and veterans, and they also accept different forms of military tuition assistance.

University of Massachusetts-Lowell offers a discount on tuition and fees for all active-duty military, guard, reserve, and veterans, who are enrolled in a degree program through UMass Lowell's Division of Online and Continuing Education.

Keep in mind this is just a small sample and there are many more institutions offering similar benefits. However, it's important for potential students to reach out to their prospective colleges' Office of Veteran Affairs or Military Services, as procedures and availability can vary greatly. Also worthwhile is to check out the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs' GI Bill Comparison Tool which allows you to compare benefits across different institutions, and understand the benefits allocated under both the GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program. Remember, choosing a college is a personal decision and should take into account factors beyond just financials, such as the availability of your desired program, college culture, and location.
