Can I Cancel AP Scores?

Let's say an AP exam didn't go as well as planned. Is there a way to cancel the scores so colleges won't see them? Has anyone here done that before?

Yes, cancellation of AP scores is possible if you're concerned about how the results might be perceived by colleges. You can request College Board to do this on your behalf, but keep in mind that once a score is canceled, it's gone permanently and cannot be retrieved. You would need to send a written request to College Board by mail or fax, with specific details such as your full name, address, social security number, birth date, your school code/name, the name of the AP exam, and the year you took the test. It's advised to make this request immediately after test day or at least before the July score report deadline.

One thing to note though, generally speaking, colleges focus more on the AP courses you take and the grades you get in them, as they demonstrate course rigor rather than AP scores. Nevertheless, if you think a low score might negatively impact your application, canceling it is certainly an option.
