Colleges That Cater to Military -- Any Suggestions?

Hey guys, so here's the deal. I'm pretty committed to a future military career but also don't want to miss out on the college experience. Are there any colleges renowned for catering to military students well, by offering flexibility, scholarships, or resources specific to our needs? I've been trying to research but there's so much info out there... Any help would be really appreciated.

Absolutely! A future in the military and gaining a college education can definitely coexist. Thanks for sharing your aspirations. In terms of higher education institutions that cater specifically to students interested in or already have an affiliation with the military, there are many options and it would depend on what you're looking for in your college experience. Here are some colleges and universities that are well-known for their support of military students:

1. Norwich University in Vermont: Known as the birthplace of Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), this university offers several resources for military students, including generous scholarship opportunities.

2. University of Maryland Global Campus: This university provides a wide range of resources for military students, including tuition assistance and credit for military training.

3. Texas A&M University: Texas A&M has a dedicated Corps of Cadets center and offers numerous scholarships specifically for military students.

4. United States Military Academy at West Point: While primarily an academy, West Point is prestigious and gives a holistic college experience.

5. Stanford University: Stanford offers a Reserved Officers' Training Corps and has resources for veterans and active duty military.

When researching, look for institutions with a robust ROTC program, military scholarships, and services which could help with transition points (from military to civilian life or from on-campus to online study scenarios in case of deployment). Be sure to also check university websites directly and, when possible, speak to admissions advisors who have experience with military students in order to glean first-hand information. They can provide you with clear guidance on applying your military benefits towards your education.

Remember, the best school for you as a military-focused student is one that fits your specific needs and supports your long-term career goals. It's not about the name of the school, but what’s best for your particular military and educational journey. Best of luck to you in your search!
