What colleges have exemplary public health programs?

In the wake of the recent global health events, I've found my passion lies in public health and I want to pursue this as my career. As a junior, I am on the hunt for colleges that have renowned public health programs. Any advice?

There are several colleges which have strong public health programs, each with their own focus and strengths. Looking at undergraduate public health programs, there are a few that are often recognized for their quality and comprehensive coursework:

1. Johns Hopkins University: Johns Hopkins has the Bloomberg School of Public Health, which is one of the top-rated public health programs in the country. Offering a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Studies, this program provides a broad understanding of public health disciplines while also encouraging interdisciplinary study.

2. University of California, Berkeley: The UC Berkeley School of Public Health is also internationally renowned. As an undergraduate, you would major in Public Health, undergoing rigorous training in health-related sciences and humanities.

3. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: UNC's Gillings School of Global Public Health is well-regarded, offering an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) degree in several concentrations, such as Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy and Management, and Nutrition.

4. University of Michigan: Michigan's School of Public Health offers a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Public Health, equipping students with a firm foundation in public health principles.

5. Emory University: At Emory, undergraduates can gain a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Emory is particularly renowned for its Global Health Institute, providing opportunities for global health research and training.

6. Brown University: Brown offers an undergraduate degree in Public Health. The school is distinguished for its unique open curriculum, allowing students to take courses from a broad range of subjects alongside their public health studies.

Where you apply should also consider your personal interests within the field of public health, the location and size of the school, and extracurricular and research opportunities related to public health. Studying public health is a great first step to a career in health policy, epidemiology, health education, and much more.
