Elliott School of International Affairs Acceptance Rate?

Hello all, I'm looking at applying to the Elliott School of International Affairs but I'm a bit unsure of what my chances are. Does anyone have any stats or figures on their acceptance rate? Obviously, I know it'll be competitive, but a ballpark figure would really help. Thanks!

Hello! The Elliott School of International Affairs, housed at George Washington University (GWU), is considered a competitive program. GWU, as a whole, has an acceptance rate around 43%, as per the recent available statistics, but admission to specific programs like the Elliott School can be more competitive. However, George Washington University doesn't publish independent acceptance rate statistics for each of their individual schools or colleges, including the Elliott School. Because of this, it's hard to provide an exact figure for the Elliott School's acceptance rate.

Your chances of being admitted to GWU and the Elliott School, in particular, will depend on multiple factors: your academic performance, extracurricular activities, experience or demonstrated interest in international affairs, essays, and recommendations. Remember to pay special attention to your application essays when applying to these programs. The admissions committee will be looking for clearly articulated interest in international affairs, as well as examples of how you've explored this area in your past academic or extracurricular pursuits.

Remember, while acceptance rate can give you an idea of the selectivity, it doesn't reflect your personal likelihood of acceptance. It's better to focus on presenting your best possible application by highlighting your strengths, experiences, and interests pertaining to international affairs. Best of luck with your application!
