Auburn Admission Process?

What's up guys, I've been looking into Auburn University for college, but I'm not sure about their admissions process. Does anyone know if they are test optional? Would I have a strong chance of getting in without submitting ACT or SAT scores?

Sure, happy to provide some clarity on this!

Auburn University is test-optionalfor the 2024-2025 college application cycle which means that submission of standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) is not required for admission consideration. Choosing to not submit test scores won't automatically put you at a disadvantage, but the admissions committee will place more emphasis on other elements of your application. This includes your high school GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, and personal essays.

As far as chances of acceptance, Auburn's admission rate is around 44%, and the average unweighted GPA of admitted students is about 3.7. Although the SAT or ACT is optional, if your scores are strong, they could bolster your application. However, Auburn takes a holistic approach to admissions, so even without test scores, a strong GPA paired with solid extracurriculars and compelling essays can build a competitive application. To get an idea of the strength of your application, consider taking advantage of CollegeVine's free GPA calculator: https://www.collegevine.com/admissions-calculator. It takes into account your test scores (if submitting), GPA, and extracurriculars to give the most accurate odds of admission at dozens of colleges, including Auburn. If you're uncertain about test scores, you can chance your application with and without them, and see for yourself what version is stronger.

Remember, each application is unique, and what worked for somebody else may not necessarily work for you. It's important to consider this as you navigate the admissions process. Good luck with your application to Auburn!
