When's the Application Deadline for Northern Arizona University?

Hey all, I'm considering applying to Northern Arizona University, but I'm not sure when their deadlines are. Does anyone have this info? Any tips for making the application process smoother would also be welcome.

Northern Arizona University (NAU) has a rolling admissions policy which means they continue to accept applications throughout the year until they've filled all the spots for their incoming class. However, it's generally advisable to apply early— ideally before November 15—to ensure the best consideration for housing and financial aid. As for easing the application process, here are a few tips:

1. Start early: Regardless of rolling admissions, don't wait until the last moment to send in your application. It gives you ample time to craft your responses and gather necessary documents.

2. Review your application: Before submission, make sure to review for errors or omissions. Preferably, have a teacher, counselor, or trusted adult take a look as well—they may spot mistakes you've missed.

3. Understand the application requirements: NAU requires your high school transcripts and an application fee, but they don't require recommendation letters or essays. Moreover, standardized test scores like the SAT/ACT are optional for admission, but are required for some scholarships.

4. Research & connect: Take time to research about the university and if possible, connect with current students, faculty or the admissions office. This will not only help you decide if NAU is a good fit for you but will also provide valuable insights that may help you to tailor your application.

5. Submit the FAFSA: Regardless of whether you think you'll qualify, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after it opens on October 1. Many universities, including NAU, use it to decide on issuing various financial aids and scholarships.

6. Apply for Housing: Once you've applied, consider filling out your housing application soon after. NAU residence halls tend to fill up quickly and housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Remember, while the process may feel daunting, it's just a step towards an exciting new chapter. Best of luck with your application!
