Info on Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation program?

Hey guys! I recently stumbled upon Johns Hopkins' Engineering Innovation program and got intrigued. Does anyone have any firsthand experience or know something about it? What does the curriculum look like? Any insights would be super helpful!

The Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation (EI) program is an excellent opportunity for high school students interested in pursuing a career in engineering. It's an intense, 4-week summer program that typically operates in-person, but has also been offered virtually in recent years.

The curriculum is quite comprehensive, providing an introduction to several branches of engineering. Students get to experience hands-on lab work in fields such as chemical, electrical, material, civil, mechanical, and robotics engineering. They are also trained in computer programming, and are tasked with completing assignments, quizzes, a final project, and even a mid-term and final exam. The program is pretty rigorous and is renowned for its experiential learning and project-based teaching method. It indeed reflects the practical, problem-solving approach of engineers. The final project often entails designing, building, and testing a structure or a solution to a particular problem which can be quite challenging but also rewarding.

One distinguishing feature of the program is that participants who earn a grade of an A or B are eligible to receive three transferable credits from Johns Hopkins University. This can differ depending on the exact format of the program though, so it's best to check directly with the program coordinator for the current policy.

Bear in mind that this program is quite competitive, with a selection process that evaluates your math and science grades, a recommendation from your math or science teacher, as well as your short responses to specific questions.

Please remember that while participating in the program won't guarantee your admission into Johns Hopkins or its engineering program, it will certainly give you a firsthand experience of the university's teaching methods and environment. Plus, the skills and experiences gained will likely be beneficial when constructing college applications.
